Privacy Policy

FormatPaste privacy policy: what formatter requests process, what is not stored, and how to avoid pasting secrets into online developer tools.

Last updated: July 2026

What FormatPaste processes

FormatPaste sends pasted text to a serverless formatter endpoint so the selected language can be parsed, cleaned, and returned as formatted output. Requests are handled transiently for the formatting action.

What FormatPaste does not store

FormatPaste does not provide accounts, saved snippets, public share links, or a database of submitted code. The formatter response is returned to your browser and your browser may keep local state so your last pasted text is still there when you refresh.

Do not paste secrets

Do not paste passwords, private keys, API tokens, recovery codes, credentials, production secrets, or confidential customer data into any online formatter. Use local tooling for sensitive material.

Analytics and tracking

FormatPaste uses Google Analytics 4 to measure page views and privacy-safe product events such as formatting success, copy clicks, sample clicks, clear clicks, and language changes. FormatPaste does not send pasted code or formatted output to Google Analytics.
